A common source of anxiety for students is money. This $cash award is designed to lessen the financial burden of life and help support your needs as you adjust back to school. This fund is for those who are committed to being anti-racist and wish to serve the Black community. Cultural awareness is more than one cultural competency course it is ongoing learning and we hope that those who apply for this fund are committed to the hard necessary work in decolonizing the mental health field and addressing racism in health care!

Applications for the McGirt-Adair Scholar fund are due October 31, 2025

To be eligible for this scholarship, you must meet the requirements below.

Please read the requirements carefully to ensure you meet eligibility before applying.

  • Must be a current undergraduate, or graduate school student.

  • Must plan on working with Black populations and be committed to addressing racism in healthcare.

  • Must be attending school in Washington State.

  • All GPAs will be considered.

  • Must be committed to pursuing a Behavioral health-related degree (social work, counseling, psychology, or human services) - college applicants

  • Must be committed to destigmatizing mental illness

  • Must be following our Instagram page @therapyfundfoundation
