Core Values
WA Therapy Fund Foundation’s role as a leader in community mental health and safety requires all persons involved with the Therapy Fund Foundation to assume the responsibility of maintaining the public’s trust. To fulfill this obligation to the community and ourselves, our Core Values provide the foundation on which we base our actions and decisions.
-
Integrity
We act with the highest level of accountability, we provide fair, accurate and honest disclosure of information, and we treat all individuals in a fair and responsible manner, inspiring the highest level of trust within our communities.
-
Communication
It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference. We embrace diversity and inclusion. At WA Therapy Fund We value teamwork. We believe building trust among each other produces the best
results. We believe that when we promote and practice effective communication, we
will build an even stronger team that will make a difference in our community and the people we serve. We value our presence and time and make a commitment to showing up and doing our individual part to make the team greater.
-
Community Collaboration
We successfully impact the challenges facing our communities through our spirit of collaboration. We are successful conveners, bringing together and working with the community to accomplish common goals. We consider the development of volunteer leadership is a critical component of service to our communities.
-
Respect & Inclusiveness
We embrace diversity and inclusion. At WA Therapy Fund Foundation, we have a special responsibility to bear witness to injustice and inhumanity. We stand with all those who work and demonstrate for justice, and we join their calls for institutional change. We also recognize that it is not enough to affirm these principles in the abstract. This moment encapsulates particular harms and traumas to our BIPOC community members. As an organization, we explicitly affirm our solidarity with Black Indigeonus and all People of Color across the globe.
-
Community statment
We denounce the historic and systemic nature of the continuing racism against people marked as non-white. We know that the responsibility for striving toward racial justice belongs to all of us, and in particular to those of us who have historically been over-represented and racially privileged. We reaffirm our commitment to fighting racism and supporting equity and inclusion. At WA Therapy Fund we have made a commitment to sustained action, because building an anti-racist world does not end when the news dies down. We value everyone and treat people with dignity and respect.
Message From our President
Ashley McGirt
The first soil my feet ever touched were the native lands that we know as Washington State. Washington will always be my home thus I am choosing to highlight my birth state so that individuals, couples, and families in Washington state can have access to funds to cover the cost of therapy. Along with California and hopefully other states across the U.S.
